Astronaut
Charles J. Precourt

Charlie Precourt, an astronaut since 1991, brings a message of how youth opportunities shape the trajectories of life. 

Among Precourt’s adventures:

  • piloted Atlantis for the first docking with the Russian Mir Space Station

  • Director of Operations for NASA - Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center

  • Chief of NASA’s Astronaut Corps, selecting, training, and certifying all Space Shuttle and International Space Station crews, including the tragically lost crew of the Space Shuttle Columbia

  • Deputy Program Manager for the International Space Station, responsible for operations management, on-orbit assembly, and NASA-ISS International Partners in Europe, Canada, Russia, and Japan.
